Rolex Submariner 5517

The Rolex Submariner 5517 is an exceptionally rare and highly sought-after military-issued Submariner, produced in the 1970s exclusively for the British Royal Navy. Built to stringent military specifications, it features fixed strap bars for use with NATO straps, sword-shaped hands for improved legibility, and fully graduated 60-minute bezels. Powered by the Caliber 1520 or 1530, the 5517 is engraved with military issue numbers on the caseback, with many examples showing the telltale “T” in a circle on the dial, denoting tritium lume. Never sold to the public, the 5517 is one of the most collectible Submariners ever made, prized for its rugged military pedigree and extreme rarity.
