Usually not. An Extract from the Archives is issued from your case and movement numbers and records the caliber and date of manufacture, but Vacheron states it is not proof of authenticity. A Certificate of Authenticity requires Vacheron to examine the watch and costs considerably more. On modern watches neither usually changes our offer. For vintage pieces, send us the numbers first and we will tell you if one is worth ordering.

The collection, reference, case metal, condition and completeness. The reference number tells us most of it: V means Overseas, H Historiques, E Fiftysix and T Traditionnelle, while A means steel, R pink gold, G white gold and J yellow gold. So a 4500V/110A-B483 is a steel Overseas. Unpolished cases, original dials and a full set with box, papers and straps earn the strongest offers.
