Rolex Submariner 5514

The Rolex Submariner 5514 is one of the rarest and most specialized Submariner references, produced exclusively for the French commercial diving company COMEX in the 1970s and early 1980s. Based on the Submariner 5513, it features the addition of a helium escape valve—an innovation developed for deep saturation diving—and is engraved with COMEX markings on the caseback, with some examples also bearing the logo on the dial. Powered by the Caliber 1520 or 1530, the 5514 was never offered to the public, making it highly coveted among collectors. Its combination of tool-watch pedigree, rarity, and direct link to professional diving history cements its status as a Submariner legend.
