It is an official document from Audemars Piguet confirming that your watch's case and movement numbers appear in the manufacture's records, together with details such as the reference and registration date. AP states that the Extract does not certify authenticity on its own. For that, the brand issues a separate Certificate of Authentication, which requires sending the watch to Le Brassus for examination. Either document can support a sale, but neither is needed for us to make an offer.

The full reference is printed on the warranty card and reads like 16202ST.OO.1240ST.01. The first five digits identify the model, and the two letters after them give the case material: ST for steel, OR for pink gold, BA for yellow gold, BC for white gold, PT for platinum and CE for ceramic. The case number is engraved on the caseback, and on display-back models the movement number is visible through the sapphire.
