Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR First Impressions
What hits you the moment you pick up the 15245OR.
The Audemars Piguet Neo Frame Jumping Hour 15245OR is the rare release that makes you put down whatever else is on the tray. Anyone who knows Audemars Piguet watches through the octagonal bezel and the tapisserie dial needs a second to place this one, because there is no bezel, no tapisserie, and no hands. What sits in front of you is a rectangular slab of 18k pink gold with a glossy black face running edge to edge, and it has more in common with the brand's pre-war archive than with anything else currently in the catalog. Among gold Audemars Piguet watches, it is the only one you could mistake at arm's length for a piece of jewelry rather than a watch.
The first honest reaction is that photographs undersell it and oversell it at the same time. On a screen, the black sapphire face reads flat and slightly generic, closer to a fitness band on a gold strap than to haute horlogerie. In the metal it does the opposite. The sapphire has real depth, the two apertures sit at different heights inside the surface, and the pink gold framing around the windows catches light long before the numerals do. Then you tilt it and the gadroons along the flanks fire up in eight parallel lines per side. That is the moment the watch stops looking like a modern experiment and starts looking like 1929.
THE WEARING EXPERIENCE
Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR On the Wrist
How the 15245OR actually wears, day in and day out.
Quick Specs
The Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR wears smaller than its numbers imply. The case measures 32.6mm wide by 34mm long and 8.8mm thick, and stretches to roughly 47.1mm from lug tip to lug tip, but the lugs drop away hard and the strap emerges from the case body rather than hanging off it. On a 6.75 inch wrist the case sits inside the flat with room to spare and nothing overhangs. We would put the comfortable range at roughly 6.25 to 7.5 inches. Below that the lug curve starts to run past the wrist bone, and above it the watch reads deliberately small, which a certain type of buyer actively wants.
Thickness is the one number worth arguing about. At 8.8mm this is not a thin watch by rectangular dress standards, and the glossy face sits proud enough that you register it against a cuff button. It slides under a shirt cuff without a fight, but it does not vanish the way a 6mm case does. Weight is modest, because there is not much gold here in absolute terms, and the balance is even end to end thanks to the integrated strap taking up where the case stops. Wear it for a full day and the sapphire collects fingerprints far faster than it collects marks.

BUILD QUALITY
Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR Specifications
Every measurement and material on the 15245OR, and what each one means in practice.
Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR Case
The Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR case is rectangular 18k pink gold with eight gadroons machined into each flank, and those ridges continue out along the lugs rather than stopping at the case edge. They are the reason the watch reads as Art Deco instead of as a generic shaped case, and they are cut cleanly enough that light breaks into eight distinct lines rather than smearing across the flank. The corners are softened, the lugs taper and drop sharply, and the transitions between polished and microblasted surfaces hold their edges under a loupe. Turn it over and the caseback is gold and sapphire held by four screws, glareproofed, with the collection motif carried through onto the rotor beneath.
Water resistance is rated at 20m, and that number is a consequence of the construction rather than an oversight. Because the sapphire dial plate is bonded to the crystal and then screwed directly into the case, there is no conventional dial and gasket stack to seal against. Treat 20m as hand washing and rain. This is not a watch to wear in a pool, and any pre-owned example that has seen water deserves a pressure test before money changes hands.
Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR Dial and Apertures
The Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR dial is not a dial in the usual sense. It is a sapphire plate treated with black PVD on the underside, bonded to the crystal and screwed into the case as a single assembly, which is why the black surface has depth instead of the flatness you get from lacquer. The sapphire runs off the case edge at 12 and 6 with no metal frame at all, and that one decision is what makes a 1929 design read as contemporary. Two apertures break the surface: a deep faceted square at 12 for the jumping hour, and a semicircular window at 6 for the trailing minutes, both framed in microblasted pink gold. The discs beneath are matte black with white printed numerals, and the Audemars Piguet signature sits below the minute window where it disappears at most angles.
Legibility is better than the layout suggests, with one caveat worth stating plainly. The hour numeral is large, centered, and unmistakable at a glance, and the minutes read cleanly through the arc. There is no lume anywhere on this watch. In a dark restaurant you are angling it toward a candle. For a gold dress watch that is a fair trade, but understand what you are buying: this is a daylight watch.
Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR Strap and Buckle
The strap is black calfskin with a textured, almost rubberized surface carrying a motif developed specifically for this collection, and it is integrated rather than fitted. It runs over the lugs and joins the case body, which is what gives the watch its uninterrupted profile and is also what limits you. There is no meaningful aftermarket here on day one. Plan on buying replacement straps from Audemars Piguet, and plan on the 18k pink gold pin buckle being the part you keep and carry across.
In wear the strap is stiffer than an alligator strap out of the box and softens over a few weeks of daily use. The pin buckle is the right call at this size, because a deployant would add bulk underneath the wrist and undo the low profile the case works hard to achieve.

What I Check on a Pre-Owned Neo Frame 15245OR
"The sapphire dial plate is bonded into the case, so a chip or a scratch on that surface is not a polish job, it is a case swap through Audemars Piguet. I look at the edges at 12 and 6 first, under a loupe, every single time. Then I set the watch to five minutes before the hour and watch the jump. It should be instant and the numeral should land dead center in the window. If it drags or sits off center, walk away and let somebody else pay for that service."
Not Sure the Neo Frame Is Your Audemars Piguet?
If the rectangular case and the aperture display are not landing, the octagonal bezel is still where most of our Audemars Piguet buyers end up.

Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR Movement Review
How the movement performs where it matters: on the wrist, every day.
The Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR runs the Calibre 7122, the first selfwinding jumping hour movement the manufacture has built, and it is a reworking of the Calibre 7121 found in the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo. It measures 29.6mm across and 4mm thick, carries 43 jewels and 293 components, beats at 28,800vph, and holds 52 hours of power reserve. The engineering interest is in the discs. The hour disc is titanium, chosen for strength because it sits still and then snaps, and the minutes disc is aluminum, chosen for lightness because it is a constant load on the barrel. A patented shock protection system stops the hour from jumping if the watch takes a knock, which is precisely the failure mode that has plagued jumping hour watches since the 1920s.
In daily wear the thing you notice is that this is a true jumping hour and not a dragging one. At the top of the hour the numeral changes instantly and cleanly while the minutes disc keeps crawling underneath it, and the tactile satisfaction of that is most of the reason to own the watch. Audemars Piguet does not submit this movement for COSC certification, and in practice you should expect a handful of seconds a day in either direction, which is normal for a 4Hz automatic at this level. The 52 hour reserve is the genuine ownership constraint. Take it off Friday evening and it is stopped by Sunday night, and resetting a jumping hour takes longer than nudging a pair of hands. If this is one watch in a rotation, buy a winder.

Service Reality on the Calibre 7122
"This is a brand new movement in a brand new collection, which means parts live inside the Audemars Piguet network and nowhere else for years yet. Do not let a local watchmaker open it, even a good one. Budget for boutique service, budget for months rather than weeks, and price that into what you pay today. On a watch this new, an unbroken service record from Audemars Piguet is worth real money when you go to sell."

Call Us Text UsTHE VIEW FROM BEHIND
Through the Caseback: Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR
What the Calibre 7122 reveals through the sapphire crystal.
The caseback on the Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR is gold and sapphire, held by four screws, and the view earns its place. The Calibre 7122 inherits the architecture of the 7121, which means a gold bridge over the barrel, a free-sprung balance with inset inertia blocks sitting under its own gold bridge, ruby liners at the click wheel, and a flat hairspring pinned to a dedicated finger bridge. Geneva stripes run across the bridges, the wheel work is circular grained, and the bevels are drawn cleanly rather than rounded off by machine.
Be clear-eyed about what that is and is not. This is excellent industrial finishing with genuine hand work at the visible edges, and it sits a level above most of what sells at this price point. It is not the deep, mirror-bright anglage of an independent watchmaker charging similar money, and the rotor still covers roughly half of what you want to look at. What you are paying for on the 15245OR is the case construction and the complication, not the decoration. If movement finishing is your primary criterion, your money goes further elsewhere.

Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR Price and Market Value
What the 15245OR costs right now, and why the number keeps moving.
Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR Market Price
Prices reflect complete sets (box, papers, warranty card). Watches without complete sets typically trade 5-15% lower.
The Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR carries a US retail price of $71,200, which corresponds to CHF 56,300 before tax and EUR 64,900 including VAT. It reached boutiques and authorized dealers in June 2026. Secondary market data is thin because the watch is only months old and the allocation is small. The public asks we can point to run from six figures up to roughly $207,000 from a trusted seller on Chrono24, with several dealers listing price on request. Those are asks, not completed trades, and the spread between them tells you the market has not settled yet.
When we covered the Audemars Piguet 2026 releases back in February, Robertino called for $7,000 to $20,000 over retail. The early market has run past that, pushed by three things: this is the first reference in an entirely new collection, it exists only in pink gold, and guichet watches are having a genuine moment. History argues for patience. The Code 11.59 launched hot and settled, the Audemars Piguet [Re]Master 26595 found its level after the initial rush, and first-year premiums on new Audemars Piguet lines have a habit of compressing once supply catches up with curiosity. If you want one to wear, buy when the asks stop climbing. If you want one to flip, you are already behind the people holding allocation.

Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR Comparison
The 15245OR against the watches buyers actually cross-shop it with.
Cross-shopping at this reference is unusual, because there are very few rectangular gold watches left at this level. In practice buyers land on the Cartier that restarted the guichet conversation in 2025, or they stay inside the brand and weigh the Neo Frame against the Royal Oak Jumbo that shares its movement family. A Patek Philippe Calatrava comes up occasionally as the conservative alternative, and if traditional dress-watch elegance is the actual goal, it remains the safer purchase.
Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR vs. Cartier Tank a Guichets WGTA0235 (Rose Gold)
The rose gold Cartier Tank a Guichets is the direct rival and the more traditional watch. At 37.6mm by 24.8mm and 6mm thick it is narrower, longer, and appreciably thinner, and it carries no water resistance rating at all. It is hand-wound, running Cartier's Calibre 9755 MC with 40 hours of reserve, and its apertures are cut into a solid gold face rather than a bonded sapphire one. The Audemars Piguet answers with an automatic movement, a longer reserve, a display caseback, and a construction nobody else is currently attempting. Choose the Cartier if you want the design in its purest historical form. Choose the 15245OR if you want the mechanics and the view through the back, and if you would rather not wind a watch every morning.
"The Cartier is the more elegant watch and I am not going to pretend otherwise. But it is manual wind, it has no display back, it has no water resistance, and it is already trading at multiples of retail. The 15245OR gives you a brand new automatic jumping hour with a movement you can actually look at, and it is the first piece in a collection Audemars Piguet is going to build on for the next decade. I would rather own the first one of something than the fourth reissue of something else."

Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR vs. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo 16202OR (Pink Gold)
This is the more honest comparison, because the money is nearly identical and the movements share a family. The Royal Oak Jumbo in pink gold launched at $70,500 and runs the Calibre 7121, the base from which the 7122 was developed. It is 39mm across and 8.1mm thick, rated to 50m, and it arrives on an integrated gold bracelet that accounts for a large share of both the weight and the value. The Neo Frame is the more interesting watch and the Jumbo is the more liquid one. If resale matters more than novelty, the Jumbo has a decade of trading data behind it and the 15245OR has a few months.

Call Us Text UsTHE BOTTOM LINE
Is the Audemars Piguet Neo Frame 15245OR Worth It?
Our verdict on the 15245OR, and who should actually buy one.
Yes, the Audemars Piguet Neo Frame Jumping Hour 15245OR is worth buying, provided you buy it as a watch and not as a trade. It is the most genuinely new thing Audemars Piguet has produced in years, the case construction is doing something nobody else is attempting at this price, and the Calibre 7122 solves a real mechanical problem rather than decorating an old one.
It is right for the collector who already owns the sports watches and now wants something that reads as design rather than status, and for anyone who has watched the guichet revival from the sidelines and wants the version with a modern automatic behind it. It is wrong for a one-watch collection, because 20m of water resistance, no lume, and a 52 hour power reserve make it a specific watch for specific days. It is also wrong for anyone paying today's asks purely to flip, since first-year premiums on new Audemars Piguet collections rarely hold their peak. If you want to handle one before you commit, book an Audemars Piguet appointment and we will put options in front of you.
"I have sold Audemars Piguet for a long time and I cannot remember the last time something that was not a Royal Oak got this much attention on our floor. The Neo Frame is the real thing. My advice has not changed since February: pay a premium if you love it, but do not pay a panic premium. The first reference in a new collection always gives you a second chance to buy well, usually around eighteen months in."
