The Rolex Sea-Dweller 116600, produced from 2014 to 2017, marked the return of the classic 40mm Sea-Dweller after a six-year hiatus. It paid tribute to earlier models while introducing modern upgrades, featuring a stainless steel Oyster case with a helium escape valve and a depth rating of 4,000 feet (1,220 meters). The watch sported a Cerachrom ceramic bezel insert for scratch and fade resistance, and a maxi dial with larger Chromalight markers and hands for optimal legibility underwater. Powered by the Caliber 3135 with a quickset date, it also included the Glidelock and Fliplock extension systems for precise bracelet adjustments over dive suits. With its short production run, balanced proportions, and blend of vintage cues with modern technology, the 116600 has become a collector favorite as the last 40mm Sea-Dweller before the move to larger case sizes.
