Inside Terrace Martin's Rolex Collection

CEO of WatchGuys, Robertino Altieri, sat down with music producer, multi-Grammy nominee, and instrumentalist Terrace Martin to explore his watch collection.

He began collecting after finding success as a producer, working with Kendrick Lamar on the breakout album “To Pimp a Butterfly.” Terrace bought his first Rolex just before performing at the Grammys.

Since then, his collection has evolved alongside his career.

Drawing inspiration from jazz musicians of earlier eras, Terrace prefers smaller, lighter watches over oversized or heavily iced-out pieces.

In this blog, we break down key pieces from his collection, including each watch’s backstory and market value.

Terrace Martin’s Rolex Daytona 6263 “Big Red”

Rolex Daytona 6263 Big Red

Following the release of his My Collection episode, Terrace purchased a Rolex Daytona 6263 “Big Red” from Robertino Altieri. This rare vintage Daytona is difficult to find in fully original condition, distinguished by the bold red “Daytona” text above the 6 o’clock subdial.

Many 6263 models on the market feature service replacement “Little Red” dials, which carry significantly less value. Authentic Big Red Daytonas command market values around $125,000.

This watch earned Terrace recognition from GQ Magazine and was crowned best watch of the night at the 2026 Grammys.

Rolex Daytona “Ghost” 126519LN

Terrace wore the Daytona “Ghost” 126519LN during the interview, a subtle white gold piece with a silver dial.

Though white gold watches can feel heavy, the Oysterflex strap reduces wrist weight, which matters for Terrace as a saxophonist. As a 2023 model, it carries a market value around $58,000.

Vintage Rolex Submariner 16610

Terrace’s most cherished piece is a vintage Rolex Submariner 16610, purchased just before performing with Kendrick Lamar at the Grammys.

This 1995 reference has a market value just under $10,000. Its partially hollow construction keeps it lighter on the wrist, aligning with his performance preferences.

Rolex Daytona 116519

He also owns a Rolex Daytona 116519 with a white racing dial and red accents, styled on a black leather strap.

This 2013 model carries a market value around $35,000 and served as his gateway into the Daytona line before acquiring the “Big Red.”

Rolex GMT-Master II “Batman” 126710BLNR

Though extremely popular, the GMT-Master II “Batman” 126710BLNR is not one of his favorites.

With a market value around $18,000, Terrace considers it too mainstream and prefers more niche options.

Rolex Daytona “Paul Newman” 116528

He also owns a Rolex Daytona “Paul Newman” 116528, an 18k yellow gold 2008 model with red dial accents.

This neo-vintage reference carries a market value around $45,000 and helped inspire his eventual purchase of the “Big Red.”

Rolex Day-Date “President” 18038

Terrace’s Rolex Day-Date 18038 reminds him of his friend Nipsey Hussle.

This 36mm 18k yellow gold 1994 piece with a champagne dial carries a market value around $18,000.

Inspired by jazz icons like Duke Ellington and Miles Davis, Terrace prefers smaller Day-Date models that reflect classic proportions and timeless elegance.
