Carlos Alcaraz stunned at this year’s 2025 French Open, making headlines by beating out Jannik Sinner in the men’s single. The La Coupe des Mousquetaires (the Musketeers’ Trophy) wowed in photos with Alcaraz but it was not the only thing that caught viewer’s attention. Spectators and athletes came out in full force this year to show off their watches, which is arguably the second most anticipated competition during the Roland Garros.
While Rolex remains the official timekeeper for the French Open, we saw many Audemars Piguet and Richard Mille watches taking center stage this year. These are WatchGuy’s top ten timepieces spotted on players and in the crowd.
1. Rafael Nadal - RM 27-05

Nadal entered his farewell ceremony with arguably the most expensive watch in the tournament. He wore a limited edition Richard Mille RM 27-05, retailing at $1,250,000. This watch is a testament to Richard Mille’s friendship with Nadal, as it was a limited edition piece created for the tennis legend. It features a lightweight design that was tested more rigorously than any model before it, which made it capable of withstanding two times the amount of g-force of previous models.
2. Pharrell Williams - RM 74-02

The Grammy-winning music icon and creative director for Louis Vuitton attended the final match with a Richard Mille RM 74-02 Winding Tourbillon Gold Topaz TPT on his wrist, retailing around $603,000. This watch was designed to withstand shock and sudden movement, making it a great choice for athletes. But the eye-catching design is perfect for fashion experts like Williams himself.
3. Ousmane Dembélé - Daytona 116576TBR

Dembélé paid Roland Garros a visit on day nine to showcase his PSG Champion trophy. His historic win matched perfectly with the extremely rare Rolex Daytona (116576TBR) on his wrist. This stunning piece is crafted with a platinum Cosmograph and diamond-embedded bezel. It is a rare find, in large part due to the Arabic dial—which is produced in very limited quantities by Rolex.
4. Alexander Zverev - Casino Tourbillon

Zverev also joined in to celebrate France’s victory with the PSG Champion trophy. He was pictured wearing a Jacob & Co. Casino Tourbillon Rose Gold, featuring an onyx dial. This playful piece has a functional roulette table unlike anything on the market. With the push of the button at 7 o’clock, the roulette table spins. It retails for $280,000 and is very hard to get your hands on.
5. Carlos Alcaraz - "Tiffany" Daytona 126518LN

The French Open’s big winner held his trophy with pride, showing off his very own Rolex Cosmograph Daytona. This piece (ref. 126518LN) was released during 2025's Watches and Wonders, and is a highly desired watch because of its turquoise blue dial. The color resembles Tiffany and Co.'s signature robin egg blue giving it the nickname "Tiffany Dial". While this watch retails for $37,400, its value on the secondary market is quadruple that, in no small part due to this appearance.
6. Odell Beckham Jr. - RM 67-01

OBJ sat courtside to show his support for Alcaraz, wearing a Richard Mille RM 67-01 Ultra Flat with a pink band and diamond-encrusted bezel. The ultra-flat tonneau shape required more time for Richard Mille during its creation, in order to maintain visual depth and thinness. This piece resells for about $210,000.
7. Aryna Sabalenka - Royal Oak 15550BA

Aryna Sabalenka faced off in a heated match against Coco Gauff wearing a stunning Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15550BA reference. This piece features an 18-carat yellow gold case and a natural turquoise dial. The sapphire crystal is glare-proof, making it perfect for athletes like Sabalenka. This piece retails for $69,900 but is extremely popular on the secondary market, reselling for almost double its retail value.
8. Derrick Rose - Cobra 5587BA

Rose proved his great taste in watches as he sat courtside, spectating the final match between Alcaraz and Paul. The pro-basketball player’s wrist was adorned with an eye-catching Audemars Piguet Cobra (ref. 5587BA). This vintage piece features 18-carat yellow gold and has a high resale value.
9. Jessica Pegula - DB28XS Starry Seas

Pegula went up against Loïs Boisson wearing a De Bethune DB28XS Starry Seas. It is a beautiful watch with the world’s first random guilloche dial, a design achieved through a special engraving technique. This piece is also much smaller than previous designs, at only 39mm.
10. Jean Arnault - Spin Time

Arnault sat courtside with his father, and owner of LVMH, wearing a watch of Louis Vuitton’s own design. He wore the Tambour Taiko Spin Time in white gold with a baguette diamond-embedded bezel and hawk eye dial. This limited edition watch is sheer luxury, retailing for $145,000.
